WILLOWICK, Ohio - Wickliffe and Willowick police departments are looking for the person responsible for a carjacking and knifepoint robbery at two local Speedway gas stations.
Wickliffe police said the Speedway gas station located at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Lloyd Road was robbed at knifepoint around 7:18 Monday morning.
Authorities said the suspect used a large knife with a blade that appeared to be about 8-inches in length. During the robbery, police said the suspect told the gas station attendant he was a drug addict.
The man then reportedly fled the scene in a 1992 dark blue 2-door Chevy Blazer with a red lift gate, red driver's door, and light blue passenger door. The Chevy Blazer had been stolen moments earlier from the Speedway gas station at Lakeshore Boulevard and Vine Street in Willowick, according to police.
The suspect who was caught on surveillance video is wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with the official NFL emblem on the back and the words "GRIDIRON CLASSIC" above and below the logo.
The suspect also had on a white or light tan pants, tennis shoes, dark gloves and a ski mask, surveillance video showed.
Both the suspect and vehicle are still at large, according to police. Anyone seeing either is asked to call 911 or the Wickliffe Police Department at (440) 943-1234.
