MENTOR, Ohio - It is called "car stomping" and the Mentor Police Department has responded to a dozen vandalism and criminal damage reports over the last year and a half.
Police said the culprits have severely damaged parked vehicles by stomping on them. They jump up and down on cars causing serious damage to the top and the windows of the vehicle.
The stomping incidents have happened throughout the city, but most have occurred on Tyler Boulevard, East Avenue and Twinbrook Drive.
In addition, police say the vandals damage the sides of the cars by kicking the body panels and leaving huge dents.
Police ask that anyone with information on these incidents call Detective Mike Malainy at 440-974-5763, Ext. 2124.
