MENTOR, Ohio - Popular northeast Ohio restaurant Melt Bar & Grilled will be opening its first location outside of Cuyahoga County.
Melt owner Matt Fish said the new location will be in Mentor, but he did not specify the exact location. Fish said he wants the buzz to build before the official announcement in June.
Fish and his team have been looking for a fourth location for about six months.
The original Melt location is in Lakewood, which is also its smallest location. The second location is in Cleveland Heights and the third is in Independence, which is the largest of the three existing locations. Fish said the Mentor location should be about as big as the Independence location.
Right now, they are working on the floor plan for the new Melt, then they will submit permits, before starting demolition work on the space in July.
The hiring process will begin in September and the Mentor Melt should be open for business in October.
Fish said it will serve the same popular menu that people have come to expect. It will also feature about 40 beer taps and 50 bottles.
Fish said the Independence location gets a regular amount of customers from the Akron area. Fish said that his team is considering the possibility of opening a location in Akron, and maybe Columbus further down the line.
