PAINESVILLE, Ohio - The man convicted in the murder of Annie McSween will begin the penalty phase Wednesday at a Lake County courthouse.
Thomas is expected to make an unsworn statement.
Last week, a jury convicted Joseph Thomas on all counts. He was convicted of kidnapping, raping and murdering 49-year-old Annie McSween in Mentor-on-the-Lake on Thanksgiving Day in 2010. He then left her body behind the bar where she worked.
Thomas faces 25 years to life in prison. The prosecution is pressing for the death penalty.
NewsChannel5 will have a crew in the courtroom for the sentencing and will bring you information as it becomes available.
