MENTOR, Ohio - Mentor police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect following an armed robbery over the weekend.
Officers posted to the department’s Facebook page that on Sunday, the Shell Gas Station at Mentor Avenue and State Route 306 was robbed at gunpoint shortly after 4 a.m.
In the posts, officers also included surveillance photos of the armed robbery in progress.
In them, a male can be seen holding a gun in his left hand while taking money from the cash register with his right hand.
Police believe this same suspect may be responsible for a similar robbery that occurred shortly after in Willoughby the same morning.
Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or current whereabouts is asked to call the Mentor Police Department Detective Bureau at (440) 974-5763.
