MADISON, Ohio - Troopers confiscated 15 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in Lake County last week.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol pulled a Volkswagen Jetta over on State Route 528 in Madison just after 11 a.m. on Friday for a marked lane violation.
According to the patrol, “criminal indicators” were observed by the troopers and a drug dog alerted to drugs in the car.
Troopers said a search turned up a garbage bag in the trunk containing 15 resealable bags of marijuana.
The OSHP arrested the driver, 41-year-old Brian Walters of Geneva. He was charged with possession of marijuana and trafficking in marijuana.
Walters, if convicted, could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.
