WILLARD, Ohio - The suspect in the Willard shooting has been arrested, after the schools, a library and park were placed on lockdown.

Willard City Manager Brian Humphress said the shooting happened on Main Street around noon Wednesday. He said it appeared the victim's son shot one of his parents and then took off.

At 1:35 p.m., Humphress said the shooter had been arrested at a home off of Pearl Street.

Willard's library and Willard City Park were also locked down as part of the city's contingency plan.

The shot parent has been taken to a local hospital.
