FITCHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that happened Saturday.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 2:18pm on SR 162 just west of Town Line Rd 79, in Fitchville Township, west of New London.
A 2000 Dodge Dakota pick-up driven by 15-year-old Karlie Conaway of Grenwich, Ohio was traveling westbound on SR 162 when she lost control, traveled left of center, and was struck in the eastbound lane of SR 162 by a 1998 Ford Ranger pick-up driven by 40-year-old Tom Green of New London, Ohio.
Both vehicles traveled off the south side of SR 162 and came to rest. All occupants were trapped in the vehicle and were extracted by rescue personnel from the New London Fire Department.
Conaway received serious injuries and was transported to Norwalk Fisher Titus Hospital. Her front seat passenger 69-year-old Rodney Williams and rear seat passenger 66-year-old Betty Williams, both of North Fairfield, Ohio were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Green received serious injuries and was also transported to Fisher Titus Hospital.
Conaway and front seat passenger Rodney were both wearing their safety belts. Green was also wearing his safety belt. Betty Williams, the rear seat passenger of Conaway, was not belted in.
No charges have been filed, and there is no indication of alcohol or drug involvement. The crash remains under investigation.
