CHARDON, Ohio - A couple is dead after an apparent murder-suicide on Route 44 in Chardon, according to police.
The shooting happened at Cooke’s Complete Service Center, located at 500 Center St., at 9:36 a.m. Tuesday.
Chardon police said Frank Dobos, 44, shot his wife, 40-year-old Monika Dobos, before turning the gun on himself. The two were going through a divorce.
Police said Monika Dobos worked at the service center, but Frank Dobos did not. In a news conference, Chardon Police Lt. Troy Duncan said it appeared the employee arrived there first and the other victim separately. It also appeared the shooting was outside of the building.
Two calls were made to 911 after the shooting.
