CHARDON, Ohio - Eighteen-year-old TJ Lane has pleaded guilty to killing three high school students and injuring three more during a shooting rampage Feb. 27, 2012, at Chardon High School in Geauga County.

Lane entered guilty pleas to three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault during a hearing Tuesday morning before Geauga County Common Pleas Judge David Fuhry.

Lane answered multiple questions from Judge Fuhry with "yes, your honor" and Fuhry accepted Lane's guilty plea.

Last October, Lane originally entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity.

On Jan. 7, 2013, Judge Fuhry postponed Lane's trial that was scheduled to begin Jan. 14, following a motion by prosecutors and defense attorneys based on what was described as a large amount of newly discovered information in the case that was not disclosed.

In court Tuesday morning, it was revealed that Lane was found competent to stand trial after undergoing psychological evaluations.

Following Lane's arrest, Lane admitted firing shots and believed he had "killed a bunch of people" but that he did not say why, according to testimony at a hearing last year.

Danny Parmertor, Russell King Jr. and Demetrius Hewlin died as a result of the shooting. Three more students, Nick Walczak, Nate Mueller and Joy Rickers, were injured.

Sentencing will be held in three weeks, March 19 at 9:30 a.m., and Lane could face life in prison without parole or a series of concurrent sentences of 30 years to life for each of his three victims.
