DIAMOND, Ohio - Area fire departments have teamed up to honor and benefit the victims of the deadly Chardon High School shooting.
All of northeast Ohio continues to stand by Chardon. Communities are doing what they can to help the families who lost their loved ones that deadly day.
The five fire departments within the Southeast Local School District are hosting a spaghetti dinner on March 24. Dinner will be served at Southeast High School from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Money raised from the event will go into the Chardon Healing Fund.
Tickets for the benefit are $8 for adults and $4 for kids 12 years old and younger.
You can get a ticket for the spaghetti dinner at the Charlestown Township, Deerfield Township, Edinburg Township, Palmyra Township and Paris Township fire departments.
"This spaghetti dinner is not only to raise funds for the Chardon Healing Fund, but to also answer questions parents may have about school safety," explained Tim Paulus, Edinburg Township Fire Chief. "If we convince one student to think twice about their actions, this will be a success."
Of course, you can also make donations by contacting the Edinburg Fire Department at (330) 325-1224.
"We really hope the entire area not only the Southeast School District residents will support this fundraiser," said Paulus.
On Feb. 27, alleged gunman TJ Lane opened fire on students inside Chardon High School's cafeteria, killing three teens. Lane's case is still in the juvenile court system, but prosecutors are asking he be tried as an adult.
