CHARDON, Ohio - Red ribbons, hearts and signs of support are throughout the Chardon community for everyone who was inside the high school one year ago.
Debbie Wilson's daughter Brittney was among those inside Chardon High School that day and came face to face with the admitted shooter.
"She said hi to him, walked around the corner and shots were fired. That was a difficult day for her," said Wilson.
That day changed Chardon, but the community has tried to find some good in the evil.
"We have to make it a positive, as hard as that sounds to do, need to be positive or otherwise it is just a scar," said Allen Wilson.
For Brittney Wilson, a Chardon High School sophomore, she said she feels less vulnerable than a year ago.
"We are healing, we are better and we are together,"said Brittney Wilson.
