CHARDON, Ohio - About $787,000 has been donated to a recovery fund created after a northeast Ohio high school shooting that killed three students and seriously injured two more in February.

The News-Herald in Willoughby reports an advisory board oversees distribution of the money meant for victims' families and to encourage healing in the community around Chardon High School.

About $85,000 has been handed out so far. Some of the money helped provide for wounded student Nick Walczak to get ramps at his home to accommodate his wheelchair. He also got a specially equipped vehicle to ride to the school prom.

Money from the recovery fund also has been used to support parent nights and events featuring guest speakers.

A teen is charged in the Feb. 27 shooting.
