CHARDON, Ohio - At least one person was hurt in a house fire in Geauga County Friday morning.
The fire broke out at about 10:30 a.m. in a two-story house in Chardon on Chardon Road – just west of Auburn Chardon Road, the Chardon Fire Department said.
The CFD said a man who was in the home at the time suffered from smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released. He was waiting outside the home when firefighters arrived at the scene.
One room in the house was severely damaged in the fire, and the rest of the home had smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
