Munson Township 2-vehicle crash Monday leaves Chardon man dead

MUNSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A Chardon man is dead after a crash in Munson Township around 7:25 a.m. on Auburn Road and Sherman Road.

Authorities said Nathan Peterson, 24, stopped at a stop sign on Sherman Road at the Auburn Road intersection, but then pulled into the path of a Jeep.

Peterson was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital where he died.

The driver of the Jeep, Brian Danison, 41, of Chardon, was treated and released from a local hospital.

Authorities said seat belts were used by both men.

The crash remains under investigation.
