PERRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A motorcycle driver is dead, his passenger recovering in the hospital after the Harley-Davidson and a car collided in Perry Township Sunday afternoon.
The fatal crash happened around 2:45 p.m.
The Chardon post of the State Highway Patrol said the 48-year-old Eastlake motorcycle driver, whose name hasn't been released, was traveling east on US 20 when the bike and a Saturn, which was turning onto Lane Road collided.
Both the motorcycle driver and his 30-year-old passenger were ejected.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lake County coroner. The female passenger was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital where her injuries are described as non life-threatening.
OSHP said neither were wearing helmets.
The 18-year-old driver of the Saturn and his 15-year-old passenger were not hurt. Both were wearing seatbelts.
The names of the motorcyclists have not yet been released, pending notification of family members.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the wreck.
The crash remains under investigation.
