Mosquito Lake drowning victim identified as 21-year-old Amish man from Middlefield

MECCA TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Amish man who drowned in Mosquito Lake over the weekend has been identified as a 21-year-old from Geauga County.
A spokeswoman for the Ohio State Parks said Eli Miller Jr. of Middlefield jumped into the water, struggled and didn’t resurface. His body was found at 3:40 p.m. Saturday.
A boater who saw the man go under called for help.
Dive teams responded to the scene, and police are continuing to investigate what led to the man’s drowning.
Mosquito Lake is located in Mecca Township in Trumbull County.
