Money raised Saturday for the Danny Parmertor Memorial Fund

WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio - As the Chardon community continues to recover and heal from last year's deadly shooting at Chardon High School, Saturday night, family and friends gathered to honor one of the shooting victims.

A fundraiser was held at LaVera Party Center in Willoughby Hills for the Danny Parmertor Memorial Fund. The fund was established to honor Parmertor, one of three students killed in the shooting.

According to the Danny Parmertor Memorial Fund's website, the money raised will provide a scholarship in Danny's memory for students from Chardon High School and or the Auburn Career Center who are interested in pursuing a computer related profession.

Danny had hoped to attend college and pursue a career in computer networking, the website said. The memorial fund also supports other worthy causes that are representative of those that Danny enjoyed during his life.

"This shooting brought a whole community, a whole state , a whole country together. It is important that we all stay together," Adam Cook who attended the fundraiser said.
