CHARDON, Ohio - A judge in Ohio won't allow media access to county social services agency records related to a 17-year-old boy suspected in a deadly high school shooting.
Judge Timothy Grendell on Monday rejected requests by The Associated Press and other media organizations for any existing abuse, neglect or dependency records on T.J. Lane. He says releasing that information could endanger the fairness of court proceedings by influencing a jury pool.
Lane's delinquency and paternity records have been released.
Lane is accused in a Feb. 27 shooting at Chardon High School. Three students died.
The judge says he'll allow photography and filming of Lane's court hearings but won't allow photos of Lane when he's in restraints or a protective vest inside or near the court building.
A defense lawyer has said Lane's family is "devastated" by the shootings.
