CHARDON, Ohio - The Geauga County Court of Common Pleas was evacuated Wednesday morning following a bomb threat.
The threat was called in at about 10:30 a.m., according to Lt. Hiscox with the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office.
While the building was evacuated, officers took a bomb sniffing bomb through the courthouse, but the search turned up nothing, Hiscox said. People were allowed to return to the building by 11:30 a.m.
Hiscox said the sheriff’s department also had a K-9 sniff the Chardon Municipal Court and the Geauga County Juvenile Court as a precaution.
The incident remains under investigation and there are no suspects at this time.
