CHARDON, Ohio - The accused teen gunman in the Chardon High School shootings is due back in court Monday.
Seventeen-year-old TJ Lane will appear in Geauga County Juvenile Court for a procedural hearing at 3 p.m .
It is expected that a date will be set for a competency evaluation that a judge ordered to determine if Lane is fit to stand trial.
The dates for other hearings, including one to decide if Lane should be tried as an adult, could also be announced Monday.
Because of a 2005 U.S. Supreme Court decision, Lane is not eligible to face the death penalty even if he's tried as an adult and convicted. The maximum sentence he could face is life in prison without parole.
Lane had his initial hearing in Geauga County Juvenile Court March 6.
Three students were killed and two others wounded at the shooting at Chardon High School on the morning of February 27.
