MESOPOTAMIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio - An Amish buggy and van collided early Sunday morning, sending at least two people to the hospital.
The crash happened around 1:10 a.m. in Mesopotamia Township, according to Lt. John Hiscox with the Geauga County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said a Plymouth Voyager minivan, driven by Anthony Seaman, 30, went left of center southbound on Bundysburg Road and hit the horse and buggy head-on, operated by 19-year-old Mervin Miller.
The horse died at the scene. Both drivers were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The conditions of the six passengers in the buggy are not known.
Charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
