SANDUSKY, Ohio - A Sandusky man caused a stir when citizens spotted him naked and drunk in a town fountain, police said.
Robert Nelson was found naked and intoxicated in the "fountain with the boy and the boot" on the 100 block of West Washington Street Tuesday, June 19, officers said.
Police headed to the scene after a man called telling them several people who had gathered in the area to watch a band concert at the gazebo were complaining about the naked man.
They found Nelson putting on pants near the fountain. Nelson claimed to be making a wish and denied being naked in the fountain. Officers said his eyes were bloodshot and he smelled like alcohol.
Nelson told police he drank two Four Locos and his blood alcohol content came in at .215 percent.
Nelson was arrested for public indecency and voluntary intoxication, and then released to a sober family member.
