MILAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A weekend motorcycle crash has claimed the life of a 62-year-old Sandusky man.

The Sandusky Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the wreck happened on Kelley Road, near Mason Road, on Friday shortly before 8 p.m.

Charles Reed Jr., 62, was driving his 2005 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle when a deer ran out in front of him. Authorities said he hit the deer and was ejected from the bike.

Reed was not wearing a helmet and was taken by helicopter to St. Vincent's Mercy Medical Center in Toledo.

Reed died from his injuries on Tuesday.
