SANDUSKY, Ohio - An Erie County Jail worker was arrested and charged for accommodating inmates with alcohol and cigarettes on Super Bowl Sunday.
According to the Erie County Sheriff's report, Mildred Hensley, 59, confessed to supplying inmates with alcohol and cigarettes.
The tirade had been going on for the past four months, but ended Wednesday after an anonymous person tipped off the Erie County Sheriff's Department, authorities said.
The Sheriff's Department investigated and surveyed the situation before bringing Hensley in for questioning on Wednesday.
During her interview with authorities, deputies discovered Hensley had brought scissors into the jail for a male inmate to cut his hair. She also admitted to supplying alcohol and cigarettes for the past four months to inmates there.
Hensley was able to sneak the contraband inside without being screened.
The alcohol consumption was caught on jail surveillance cameras.
Hensley has been charged with conveyance of illegal items or deadly weapons onto the grounds of a detention facility or institution.
The Erie County Sheriff's Office says policies are now being reviewed.
