NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio - The new YMCA in North Royalton held a grand opening and dedication ceremony Sunday.
The new 50,800 square foot building at 11409 State Road includes an 8,200 square foot aquatics center with an eight-lane, 25-yard competitive swimming pool, a whirlpool, sauna, locker rooms, four family changing rooms, a 400+ foot elevated indoor track, a 4,500 square foot fitness center, and 1,700 square foot weight room.
Also included in the center is a a group exercise studio, cycling room, a 6,000 square foot gym, and an outdoor playground.
Physical therapy will be available at the new YMCA. Parma Community General Hospital has added a 7,500 square foot therapy center with a separate entrance within the facility, including a therapy pool and aquatic treadmill, seven consultation and treatment rooms and a therapy gym.
The new facility is the result of a partnership between the city of North Royalton, Parma Community General Hospital and the YMCA of Greater Cleveland.
