WESTLAKE, Ohio - A middle school student in the Westlake City School District recently contracted MRSA, or methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus.
The school district said the student has not been back to school since being diagnosed and did not contract the contagious staph bacteria at school.
The child has received treatment. Westlake schools said the student does not play organized sports and there is no reason to believe any other students are at risk.
