CLEVELAND - Around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, a van was stolen from a driveway on Seymour Avenue. In the van's backseat was a 3-year-old boy.
According to police, the child's mother was visiting a friend and decided to leave the sleeping child in the backseat. At some point, while the mother was inside the home on Seymour Avenue, someone stole the van.
The van was later found in the backyard of a home off of West 23rd Place in Cleveland, with the missing toddler still inside. The boy wasn't hurt and was quickly reunited with his mother. The thief has not been found at this time.
In a 911 call, the boy's grandfather is asked by a dispatcher how he knows it was a stolen. "The car is not there. It must be gone," the man says. There is also crying heard in the background at the end of the call.
