BRECKSVILLE, Ohio - The hot button topic of fracking was addressed at a community meeting in Brecksville Saturday.
Fracking continues to be an issue in Ohio and Mothers Against Drilling In Our Neighborhoods (M.O.D.I.O.N.) held a public discussion about the drilling for oil and gas.
Dozens of people packed the Brecksville library to hear from a panel of experts about the impact of drilling on the environment and their neighborhoods.
Attorney William Dubanevich pointed out that some homeowners are having a problem with the effects fracking can have on water. "People's water supply will be impacted... can't drink with it, can't cook with it," Dubanevich said.
The meeting comes as the state considers taxing oil companies. Ohio Governor John Kasich says he wants to hike oil and gas drilling taxes and the proceeds would go toward an income tax cut.
