LINNDALE, Ohio - A man who was set to be released from prison on Saturday is facing new child molestation charges.
In May 2009, Robert Owens, now 71, pleaded guilty to four cases of sexual misconduct. Four girls, ages 5, 7, 8 and 9, accused the Sheffield Lake man of touching them inappropriately at New Hope Baptist Church in Linndale.
Linndale Police Sgt. Tim Franczak said two new victims came forward who were 9 and 11 at the time of the alleged molestation. Owens was indicted on Wednesday for these new victims.
Instead of being released from the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction on Saturday, he will be going back to jail. No court date has been set.
At the time of the original case, police were hoping that if there were any more victims they would come forward.
