SEVEN HILLS, Ohio - The city of Seven Hills' plan to honor local veterans by constructing a Veterans Memorial Wall will become a reality by the end of 2012 .

The city has raised over three-fourths of the $20,000 construction cost through sponsorship and resident participation and plans to raise the remaining amount the same way.

A deadline of Sept. 14 has been set for first round applications for 2012 additions to the wall. Ongoing applications will be taken throughout the year, with the Memorial Wall being rededicated each year at Seven Hills' Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony.

The Memorial Wall, to be located in Memorial Park outside Seven Hills City Hall, will be ordered and constructed this year.

All engraving of names for the first round will be free.

For veterans or family members of veterans interested in having their name on the wall, contact Chris Matthews at Seven Hills City Hall at 216-525-6230 or by email at cmatthews@sevenhillsohio.org.

Applications are available at Seven Hills City Hall or online at http://www.sevenhillsohio.org (follow "City Forms", "Senior Services" then "Veterans Memorial Wall Application.")
