Salvation Army Thrift Store on Mayfield Road closing at end of December

CLEVELAND - The Salvation Army Family Thrift Store on Mayfield Road will close its doors at the end of December.

For seven years, the store has offered shoppers in the Mayfield community discounted items while supporting the rehabilitation programs of The Salvation Army.

Cpt. Patrick Wilson, who oversees The Salvation Army Family Thrift Stores, said "following a thorough financial review and much thought, we've made the difficult decision to close the Mayfield store. It was the responsible choice."

While the store is closing, The Salvation Army will continue to serve the needs of the community through programming and social services administered by The Salvation Army Temple Corps on Grovewood Avenue in Cleveland.

Divisional secretary, Major Lurlene-Kay Johnson, said "the thrift store is closing, but The Salvation Army isn’t going anywhere. We are committed to helping those who need a hand up."

The Salvation Army thanks supporters of Mayfield for their understanding.

Salvation Army Thrift stores remain open in Brooklyn, Cleveland, Elyria, Mentor, Garfield, North Randall, and Strongsville.
