INDEPENDENCE, Ohio - Forty teams set off from Independence Sunday morning on the Fireball Run, a race to raise awareness for missing children.
The teams, who hail from various regions in the United States, will trek from northeast Ohio to Bangor, Maine during the 8-day, 2,500-mile adventure.
Each team represents a child who is missing from their region. Along the route, participants will distribute posters of the missing child. A decal featuring the child is also attached to the side of each vehicle.
The Fireball Run has assisted in the recovery of 38 missing children.
