CLEVELAND - A psychiatrist is almost done with a court-ordered exam of a man charged with plotting to bomb a highway bridge in Brecksville.
The warden at the federal prison outside Boston expects the evaluation of 23-year-old Joshua Stafford of Cleveland to be completed by Monday. He then faces a competency hearing in federal court in Akron on Nov. 19.
That's the date three co-defendants will be sentenced on their guilty pleas. A fifth defendant who pleaded guilty first and agreed to testify against the others will be sentenced one day later.
The government says the bomb device was a dud provided by an FBI informant and no one was hurt. The target was a highway bridge over the Cuyahoga Valley National Park between Cleveland and Akron.
