Police seek fifth suspect in fatal shooting of 14-year-old girl in East Cleveland

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - Police in Cleveland are asking for the public's help to find fifth suspect in the killing a 14-year-old girl on in East Cleveland.

Detectives obtained an aggravated murder warrant for 20-year-old Jeffrey McWhorter Jr. in connection with the shooting death of Lataevia Williams on July 28.

The shooting happened after a fight outside a home on East 125th Street, located just south of Superior Avenue. Police said multiple people fired shots into the crowd and one bullet hit Williams in the neck.

Police have already arrested four others in connection with the shooting: 18-year-old Derek Ashford, 19-year-old Marcus Anderson, 19-year-old Latiss Irons and a 16-year-old boy.

Cleveland police said McWhorter should be considered armed and dangerous – and should not be approached. Anyone with information about his location should contact the homicide unit at 216-623-5464.
