PARMA, Ohio - Police in Parma cited a driver for not clearing the ice off his windshield after he allegedly struck a woman who was walking on the side of the road.
The incident happened early Friday morning in the 6110 block of Pelham Drive.
Detective Marty Compton with the Parma Police Department told NewsChannel5 a 31-year-old driver hit 42-year-old Kelly Ellington as she was walking her dog.
The driver stopped and called 911. Compton said Ellington’s injuries are not life-threatening.
Compton said officers think the ice on the driver’s windshield was a factor in the crash, so they cited him for obstructive view
Both the driver and Ellington live on the same street, according to Compton.
