EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - East Cleveland police said a person is dead after a shooting in East Cleveland Friday morning.

They said the shooting happened at about 6:30 a.m. on Savannah Avenue between Hayden Avenue and Allegheny Avenue.

Officers said when they arrived they found the victim, 29-year-old Richard Scott, shot and asking for help after what appeared to be a confrontation. Police said the victim died on the way to the hospital.

Police are looking for the person who shot the victim and said there is a possibility of more than one suspect.

Detectives are asking anyone with information in the case to contact them at 216-681-2162.
