Pedestrian struck on I-271 north in Oakwood Village

OAKWOOD VILLAGE, Ohio - A man was taken by Life Flight helicopter to a local hospital after being struck on Interstate 271 northbound in Oakwood Village.

Oakwood Village police are investigating the crash, which involved a tow truck, a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian.

Police said the semi hit the tow truck, but they were not clear on how the pedestrian was struck.

The name and condition of the man are not being released at this time.

All lanes of I-271 north, just south of I-480 were closed while police investigated the crash. The highway was reopened at about 3 p.m.

Oakwood  Village Police Department has not yet released any more information on the incident pending further investigation.
