SOLON, Ohio - Two Cuyahoga County cities will be cracking down on driving under the influence Friday with the addition of OVI Sobriety checkpoints.
The Parma Police Department will be conducting their checkpoint in the 5600 block of Pearl Road while Solon will also be conducting a checkpoint in the area of 6221 SOM Center Rd.
Solon Police Sgt. Jamey Hofmann says that the checkpoint is part of the "Drive sober or get pulled over" campaign that is aimed at getting drunk drivers off the roads.
"We want the public to know that we will be out there for the benefit of the motoring public and pedestrians, working to make our roadways safe," Hofmann said.
Both police departments are reminding people to make smart decisions when drinking.
