CLEVELAND - A woman confined to a wheelchair died in a house fire in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood of Cleveland Sunday night.
The Cleveland Fire Department has confirmed a woman died in the 2 1/2 story house fire on Roanoke Avenue between State and Broadway roads. No other injuries have been reported.
The victim, who firefighters have identified as 69-year-old Cynthia Barron, was wheelchair-bound and found on the first floor in the living room.
Her brother was at the scene and told NewsChannel5 she was a mother of three who suffered from spina bifida.
The fire started around 9:15 p.m. and the fire department cleared the scene around 12:20 a.m. Monday.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
