One of three teens charged in Orange High School bomb threats pleads guilty

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - One of three boys charged in connection with a series of bomb threats at Orange High School pleaded guilty Monday.

The teen, who is not being named because he’s a minor, agreed to plea guilty to seven counts of inducing panic and one count of possession of criminal tools. All three suspects were initially charged in January with 17 counts of inducing panic, two counts of telecommunications harassment and one count of possession of criminal tools.

As a part of the deal with prosecutors, the teen also said he would testify against his co-defendants at trial.

The teen is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 6 and faces imprisonment up to his 21st birthday.

The other two suspects, who are both 16 years old, are set to go on trial Sept. 24.

In November, school officials canceled class several times because of the sophisticated email bomb threats. The teens allegedly sent emails to a site that made them untraceable, but a search at one of their homes turned up evidence in early December.
