SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - A small northeast Ohio college has been given its biggest gift ever: A donation of more than $2 million from the catering company that provides its cafeteria food service.
The donation from Normandy Catering is a record gift for the 90-year-old Notre Dame College in South Euclid, near Cleveland.
The Plain Dealer reports that most of the money will go toward student aid, with some toward the annual fund and general building initiatives. The $2.075 will be donated over 10 years.
The Wickliffe company has been providing food service since 1999 to the Roman Catholic college of about 2,100 students.
Company general manager Ryan Baker told the newspaper that he interacts regularly with students and hears about their goals and financial struggles.
