PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio - The city of Parma Heights announced Wednesday that the city has been awarded a 2012 Community Development Block Grant for the creation of a connector trail between Cleveland Metroparks' Big Creek All-Purpose Trail and Greenbrier Commons Recreation Complex.
The Parma Heights-Big Creek Connector Trail will be more than 1,400 feet long and will include an 85-foot bridge spanning Big Creek.
Construction will begin in fall 2012, with anticipated completion in spring 2013.
The $150,000 block grant award for the connector will cover part of the $320,000 project cost. The remaining amount will be covered through grants and pledges received from Cleveland Metroparks and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
