CLEVELAND - A night of drinking ends with one man being stabbed in Cleveland.
Officers responded to East 84th Street and Central Avenue at 3 a.m. Sunday, after getting a call about a man being stabbed.
When officers arrived, an ambulance was called and Bill Roche, 47, was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.
Roche told police he was drinking with an "acquaintance" earlier in the evening and that the woman left her cellphone at the bar they were drinking at. Roche claimed he went to pick up the phone for her.
But after investigating, officials said Roche was walking in the area of East 84th and Central when the woman pulled up in a small black vehicle.
The report stated the woman got out of the car, attempted to hug Roche, then stabbed him in the back two times and accused him of stealing her cellphone.
Police said Roche took the knife from the woman and she took off. Authorities continue to search for the 47-year-old suspect.
The stabbing remains under investigation.
