BROOK PARK, Ohio - A 55-year-old man was found guilty on Wednesday of setting Sterling Valley Trucks in Brook Park on fire.
On Aug. 6, William Crawley went into work at the trucking company on West 159th Street. He doused a truck’s cab with gasoline and then started the fire with a cigarette lighter, said Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty.
Prosecutors said Crawley then alerted his supervisor and the only other person in the building about the fire. No one was hurt, but it caused traffic issues around the Brook Park trucking company.
A jury found Crawley guilty on 24 counts including aggravated arson and arson. He will be sentenced by Judge Michael Astrab on Feb. 13.
