Heavy smoke forces evacuations at Regency Apartments

PARMA, OH - Parma Firefighters were called out to the Regency Apartments this afternoon for heavy smoke.
Regency Apartments is located at 5800 Laurent Drive in Parma, OH.
According to Parma Heights Fire dispatchers handling Parma’s emergency line this morning, heavy smoke was reported around 11:20 a. m.
An employee at Regency Apartments says smoke was pouring out from the building's boiler room. There was no fire, just heavy smoke flowing through the building.
The apartment building was evacuated while police and fire investigated.
The scene was cleared and residents were motioned back inside around 12:30 p.m.
