BROOK PARK, Ohio - A longtime Brook Park bar closed its doors for good on Sunday.

The owner of Harpo’s Sports Café decided against renewing the building’s lease after more than 23 years of business. Owner Eddie Allman said the move was not because of financial issues or foreclosure.

“My intentions were not to leave the premises as rapidly as it happened, and I do apologize for that. I have let a few people down, as well as couple bands that were booked,” Allman posted to the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The sports bar opened at the corner of Smith and Snow roads in 1988.
