LAKEWOOD, Ohio - A Lakewood woman, who once rented a room in her home to one of the suspects in the plot to blow up a Cleveland area bridge, said she wasn't surprised to hear of his arrest.
Cheryl Bradbury said she threw Anthony (Tony) Hayne out of her Robin Street home two years ago after she started getting phone calls from people saying he had stolen from them.
"Finally, we got fed up and told him he had to go," she said. "Just get your stuff and get out. I'm done."
Bradbury said Hayne was dating her daughter at the time. She rented him the room for extra income to pay bills.
The FBI arrested Hayne and four other men Monday night for allegedly plotting to blow up the Route 82 bridge over the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Brecksville.
"It didn't surprise me," Bradbury said. "It's just his character. That's the way he is."
