PARMA, Ohio - The first baby of 2012 in Cuyahoga County was a baby girl born at Parma Community General Hospital just after midnight.
Anya Zurlo was born at 12:10 on New Year's Day morning. A Parma Community General Hospital spokesperson said that Anya was the first baby born in Cuyahoga County in 2012.
The proud parents, Rachel Moses and Michael Zurlo, arrived at the hospital around eight o'clock on New Year's Eve night. Four hours later, they became first time parents.
"It was amazing," said Zurlo about holding his daughter for the first time. "As long as she was coming out healthy, I didn't care when she was coming, just happened to be she was early," said Moses.
