WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio - An elderly woman was flown to the hospital Sunday afternoon after she was struck by a vehicle and then became trapped underneath.
Police said a 74-year-old woman was struck by a Honda Accord while walking in the crosswalk of the Giant Eagle parking lot at Loehmann’s Plaza on Chardon Road around 2:20 p.m.
The victim was trapped under the Accord and had to be extricated by members of the Willoughby Hills Fire Department.
She was flown by medical helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center. Her condition has not been released.
No charges have been filed against the 77-year-old woman that was driving the Accord at this time.
Willoughby Hills police is investigating the accident.
